In the peninsula of Yucatan we can enjoy a beautiful nature and fauna, and some unique natural phenomena. In Calakmul there is one of them: you can see millions of bats coming out of a cave, an incredible experience.

  • The entrance known as Volcán de los Murciélagos is located 8 km from the town of Conhuás. At km 106 of the federal road 186 Escárcega-Chetumal,
  • When to go? At dusk, depending on the time of summer or winter changes from 5 in the afternoon to 8. But always at sunset, about 30 minutes before.
  • Access: The cave is signposted on the road with a bat signal. There is a small entrance for 8 cars maximum. Sometimes they park on the road. The cave is about 200 meters along a path. So easy traveler!
  • Cost: no cost. Standards have varied, may change.
  • How to get there by public transport? A Conhuás (8 km), the nearest village to the cave of the bats, arrives collectively from Escárcega and Xpuhil. To Xpuhil, the largest large village nearby comes public transport from Escárcega (2 hours), Chetumal (1’40 “h) and Campeche (4’30” h).
  • From Xpuhil and Conhuás there is private taxi service to the cave.
  • Light and light clothing, insect repellent and closed shoes are recommended (you are in the jungle and there are many bugs, protect yourself).

Chiflón is one of the many natural sites that we can visit in the beautiful region of Chiapas. The passage of the San Vicente River gives us several waterfalls falling and whistling as it passes through these mountains on the way to the Central Depression.

  • Chiflón is 34 km from Comitan. The buses leave you on the road, 1 km short of the entrance to the Visitor Center. They offer tricitaxi services to approach that kilometer.
  • How to get there by public transport? Until Tzimol buses leave from the main avenue of Comitán, one block from the gas station. Close to OCC buses. You have 30 minutes to travel from Comitan.
  • Entry cost: 30 MXN
  • It is recommended to wear light and light clothing, hat, insect repellent, sunscreen, closed shoes that will help you not to slip in the wet climb. And do not forget the swimsuit!

  • Kabah Urban Park is located between Kabah Avenue and Nichupte. There are 2 entrances, one entrance on each avenue, both with parking.
  • Standards: follows the Park’s codes of conduct, such as not throwing garbage, not enter with pets or feed animals. The codes of conduct are in the entries.
