Uxmal is worth a visit to Yucatan. In this delightful city of the ancient Maya, you can enjoy the greatest example of combination of astronomical and engineering knowledge of the Maya, it is a real gem this place.
- Uxmal is located 78 kilometers south of Merida (1 hour 15 minutes). It is within the Puuc Route.
- Entrance fee: national and resident $ 12, foreigner $ 18. There are two payments in Uxmal: the Patronato de Cultur 74 MXN for nationals, 129 MXN for foreigners, and the INAH payment, which is 59 MXN. On national Sundays and permanent residents with official identification they pay the 74 MXN of Cultur.
- They do not sell drinks or food inside. There are services at the entrance.
- How to get there by public transport? There is a bus that makes the puuc route from Merida with stop in Uxmal. Departure at 8 am every Friday, Saturday and Sunday (Mondays in the holiday season) at Union bus terminal on 69th Street between 68 and 70, Colonia Centro.
- Uxmal offers light and sound show: at 20 in summer-autumn and at 19 in winter-spring.
- It is recommended to wear light and light clothing, hat, insect repellent, sunscreen, closed shoes better to climb the pyramid and some water will do you good.
