Playa Xcacel – Xcacelito

Xcacel – Xcacelito

Posted By : martinflores/ 261 0

Despite the unstoppable tourist boom of La Riviera Maya as the ideal option for vacationing, in its vast territory are preserved natural scenarios to which the so-called “progress” has not touched. One of them is also one of its best kept secrets: the beach of Xcacel. Have you visited her yet?
A few kilometers south of Playa del Carmen, before reaching Tulum, you will find the paradise known as Playa Xcacel. What can we find in this piece of heaven? Nothing. That’s right: no noise or music at full volume, no garbage on the beaches and absolutely no hotels, beach clubs or water sports. Why?
Due to its privileged location in front of the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef, it is a sanctuary for more than 100 species of fish, besides being the main nesting place of 2 turtle species, the loggerhead turtle (it is a species, not a cervesota, badly thought ) and the white turtle, for what was declared a Protected Natural Reserve almost 20 years ago. Xcacel is one of the most beautiful places in the Riviera Maya (and what a lot to say) and its more than 2 kilometers of soft white sand beach bathed by turquoise and crystal clear waters present an unparalleled opportunity for contact with the best of the nature.

As if this were not enough, in the same area is “the son” of Xcacel named Xcacelito, a small but beautiful cenote open controlled access in which you can cool off if swimming in the sea is not your thing or if you want to make a Little snorkeling while you enjoy the shade and peace that the mangrove offers.

Snorkeling en Mahahual costa Maya

Snorkeling en Mahahual

Undoubtedly one of the most incredible things you have to do is swim with turtles, the tour takes about 1 hour 30 minutes, the professional guides take you on their boat and give you the tour of the reefs. There is a great variety of fish to admire, personally I recommend you do not eat heavy things before entering the sea, bring a water camera, do not use sunscreen and for your safety do not get too close to turtles and fish.

If you want to dive the cost oscillates between 1200 and 1500 pesos per person, although it is a unique experience it is worth more to pay a tour to banco chinchorro since the reefs that exist there are prettier than those of mahahual.

Playa Niños

The best beaches of Cancun you will find in your Hotel Zone, a large tourist residential that lives facing the Caribbean. Playa Niños is the beach of Puerto Juárez, the fishing district adjoining the city of Cancun. Welcome to the beach of the village!

  • Puerto Juárez (Cancún), on the Punta Sam road, 400 meters from the Puerto Juárez Ferry Terminal (Captain Hook).
  • Services: bath and showers (showers). Lifeguard hut and palapas. Free parking. Street vendors and restaurants nearby. Wastebaskets available.

The sea that bathes Puerto Juarez does not have the beauty of the turquoise blue that we are accustomed to see in the photos of Cancun. The best beaches in Cancun are in its Hotel Zone, about 24 kilometers of coastline that lives and enjoys the honeys of the Mexican Caribbean. The reason of its beautiful colors you can read in this entry.
