Muyil

Muyil has been blurred among the large archaeological sites near the Riviera Maya. It is easy to walk and quietly discover this Mayan vestige. Here you can visit part of the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve, one of the pleasant surprises that this ancient city holds.

  • Muyil is located 22 kilometers south of Tulum. The entrance is on Federal Highway 307.
  • Sundays are free for the national and residents with official identification.
  • Entry fee: 47 MXN and 40 of the entrance to the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve are paid if you choose to do the interpretive trail. I think it’s worth doing the trail to the lagoon, it’s one of Muyil’s most.
  • How to get there by public transport? Public transport is available from Tulum and Felipe Carrillo Puerto.
  • In the lagoon there are lancheros of local cooperatives that offer excursions where you can bathe in the soft currents of the lagoon.
  • It is recommended to wear light and light clothing, hat, insect repellent, sunscreen, closed shoes better to climb the pyramid and some water is always good.
